Noel & Liam Gallagher

Noel and Liam have, if you read the papers, split this week after what seems to have been quite a bust up. The Gallagher bothers have produced some wonderful music over the years and many fans will be upset, but not surprised.

I thought I would analyse their 9 Star Ki astrology and see where they are in their 9 year cycle:

Noel: 29 May 1967                  Ki numbers:   6 – 2 – 9

Trigram: Heaven                Element: Metal            Family member: Father

The imagery of Heaven is the creative power, giver of life and energy. This coupled with him being the ‘father’ figure is a powerful combination.

Noel likes to be in control; he is hard working and goal-driven, well-organised, sets high standards and is the ‘authority’ figure. He will be happiest in a leadership position and does not like to be told what to do. He may not be a good listener and sees everything black/white.

The second number is the emotional number. Number 2 is softer as this is the mother and he may sacrifice his own needs for others. Maybe Noel has had to take on both roles and that is why he runs out of patience with Liam!

Number 9: Noel can often appear to be impulsive especially where work is concerned and he will always make his presence felt. He will spend time making social connections to further his career.

Liam: 21 September 1972              Water:   1 – 1 – 5

Trigram: Water                Element: Water         Family member: Middle son

The imagery of water is lively and active but it can be deep and dark.

Liam could appear lively and positive or withdrawn and negative. He is independent and naturally explorative. We all know that water needs to be contained. Without containment Liam could become chaotic and undisciplined. As you can see Liam has 1 for his first and second number.

His third number – 5 will only strengthen the first two numbers. Liam will want to be seen as being ‘involved’ which is important to him. He does have a commanding presence, but may feel he is over shadowed by his brother and wants to break free.

I would say that Noel has always taken on the role of mother and father looking after his baby brother. Liam with a double whammy of water obviously needs containment but he may feel pushed out of major decisions. The element Metal (Noel) supports Water (Liam) in the productive element cycle so Noel has always been there for his brother.

In the 9 year cycle Noel is in the 2ndhouse. This is late winter/pre spring. It will be a time of stagnant energy. He will be able to see light at the end of the tunnel and should use this time to finalise new plans and clear past excess/obstructions ready for next year.

Liam is in the 6th house. This is good for Liam it is a time when things should move forward, it will be easy for him to display his talents. Liam should this year guard against being annoyed, argumentative or pushy.

If you know either Noel or Liam perhaps you would let me know if the above is right.

The Moon

One thing I enjoy is sitting out in the garden looking up at the night sky. You can see stars, satellites, the odd shooting star, planets and at certain times you will see the International Space Station (ISS) passing over.

The ISS can fly around the world in just over an hour and a half which is totally amazing. Just think how many sunrises and sunsets the astronauts must see in 24 hours. You can track the ISS and the Space Shuttle yourself by logging onto spaceflight.nasa.gov. The NASA site will provide you with all the information you need.

This year is the International Year of Astronomy so there is a lot of information available online and events are being held across the country in an attempt to get people interested in this fascinating subject.

In the UK we can look forward to a full moon on Friday 4th September at 16.05pm. At 16.06pm although the moon looks full as it has started its waning process.

I always work with the moon and use the waxing moon to recharge my crystals and tools. To do this I simply wash everything in water to which I have added a lot of sea salt. I then place the items outside in the moonlight and leave overnight to charge and cleanse. If you have crystals, stones or anything you wish to cleanse just follow this process.  Next month do this on the evening of the 3rd September to get the full impact.

I grow organic Sage and other herbs and always harvest these just before the full moon. I dry the herbs slowly before grinding and blending them. I use my own Sage to purify a room when I am Space Clearing for a client, that way I know exactly where it has come from.

Is red lucky?

Well it’s official. Scientists have announced that the colour red is auspicious; it is the colour of winners. No surprise there then!

The story reported in some of today’s papers states that ‘teams that wear red score 10% more than those who don’t’. Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal all wear red as their home strip, and traditionally they always do well.

Historically red has been a sign of wealth and status throughout the ages. Aztecs were known to use a red dye made from a little bug called the cochineal which was found in Mexican cacti. Synthetic dyes were invented in the middle of the 19th century so the colour became more readily available. Until this time it was only the rich and privileged that could afford it.

In Japan red was reserved for people of ‘high standing’ only. Ordinary Japanese people took umbrage to this and defied the law by lining their kimonos with red material.

In countries where red was banned some people wore red underwear, this was considered very ”naughty’ and that notion still exists today. Many cities have ‘red – light’ districts and these go back hundreds of years.

Red is for lovers, roses, Valentine’s day, happiness, lust, success, summer and Christmas. The colour red always makes people feel happy.  Writers that want their books to fly off the shelves will have red somewhere prominent on the cover. Christian Louboutin’s coveted shoes have red soles, this makes them instantly recognizable.

Wearing red can make you more aggressive. If I have an issue to sort or I want to feel more confident then I always wear red, it has an amazing effect.

The Chinese have long thought that red was a very powerful symbol as it represents fire and the south. Gifts of money are given in special red envelopes; children are often presented with the special red packets on New Year’s Day. Chinese coins and gifts are traditionally tied with red thread – this is called Chinese knotting and can be traced back to 900AD.

So if you want success, passion, luck bring more red into your life.  I chose the name of my web site very carefully…..Red 8 Feng Shui!

Bring the sunshine in

I woke about 6am, my normal time, and noticed that it was darker outside than usual. I looked out of the window and the cars were covered in condensation, you just know at this point that autumn is upon us.

As it was dark and depressing I decided I needed to keep the ‘summer feeling’ going so I got out my Solar-charged water and sprayed the whole house to lift the Yang vibrations.

Solar-charged water is very easy to do. I use a large glass bowl, (use glass for best results) and fill it with water – tap, rain bottled the choice is yours. I leave the bowl and its contents out in the sun for a minimum of four hours, but usually all day. I then decant the water into glass bottles. The sun’s rays will energise and cleanse the water ready for use.

When required I transfer some of my solar water into a house plant sprayer and add a few drops of essential oil. You don’t have to, but I think it makes a difference. As well as energising it can refresh a room at any time without using harmful chemicals. Essential oils are readily available, the Body Shop does a great range, and this year I have been a huge fan of their Tangerine oil.

I use the spray in every room making sure that I pay attention to dark corners where Chi may stagnate. The effect is always amazing; the house feels light, fresh and is alive with new energy. It may be dark outside but the sun is shining inside my house.

Crystals

I love crystals, and have collected many different types in all shapes and sizes over the years.

My kitchen is located in the southeast – my good fortune sector. I have about six round clear crystals suspended on thread and they hang in the window.

When the sun shines my kitchen is transformed into a rainbow of colours as the light hits the crystals. The effect is even more stunning if I leave the window open; the breeze gently sways the crystals and the colours dance over every surface.  When I walk past the window I gently tap all the crystals no matter what time of day, I just feel it energises the room and i like the movement.

I think crystals are special because they come from the earth, time and effort is required to prise them away from Mother Nature.

Our ancestors believed they had ‘magic powers’, these days they are used by alternative therapists, healers, dowsers, Feng Shui consultants and people who just think that they look nice.

I will over the coming weeks be writing more about crystals and where you should place them for maximum effect.

What is Yin and Yang?

Yin and Yang are two mutually dependant but opposite types of Chi energy. Nothing is wholly Yin or Yang. If you look at the Yin/Yang symbol you will see a little circle of Yin in the Yang section and a circle of Yang in the Yin section.

Yin is seen as:   Cold, wet, interior, female, dark, passive, slow, still, soft, descending and sedating.

In the home it is:   Fabrics, rugs, carpets & upholstery, curtains, blue/green colours and soft downward lighting.

Yang is seen as:   Hot, dry, exterior, male, light, active, fast, moving, hard, ascending and expanding.

In the home it is:   Marble, stone, hardwood, mirrors, glass, sculptures, blinds, red/orange colours and bright upward lighting.

You should look at attaining a good balance of Yin and Yang in your life, home, garden and place of work.

Today’s Feng Shui tip

Does your room need a lift of energy?

Fresh flowers are wonderful for boosting the yang energy in your home or place of work. Place them in the lounge or hall for a great impact. Make sure you change the water regularly and throw away any dead or wilting flowers.

If fresh flowers are impractical then use silk or plastic. Make sure they are washed or shaken regularly to avoid a build up of dust.

Never have dried flowers in the house or office, they are not auspicious as they have no life. Some people won’t even have potpourri in the house as this usually comprises of dead flowers and leaves.

Location, Location, Location – Dowsing

I was flicking through the TV channels last night and I saw a lady dowsing with copper L-rods. This immediately caught my eye as I learnt to dowse last year and find the subject fascinating.

Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer were appearing in the TV programme Location, Location, Location, they were trying to help a couple find their ideal home. When the couple found a suitable property a friend came in and checked for negative energy or Geopathic Stress. She did find one harmful line and said she would clear it. To do this practitioners carry out ‘Acupuncture’ on the earth. This might seem strange, and indeed I was most “sceptical” the first time I did it, but amazingly it works.

You can search for all sorts of things when you know how, and once taught anyone can dowse. Originally it was used thousands of years ago to search for water, but people have used dowsing techniques to search for caves, tunnels, minerals, oil, missing items and even missing people.

Forked hazel twigs were most commonly used for water dowsing as it is believed that the hazel wood is particularly “in tune” with water. These days L-rods are usually made in copper or steel are very popular.

Pendulums are also widely used and these come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and materials. These range from crystal, wood, metal and are suspended from a string or chain. It really is down to personal preference which material you choose, just make sure it “feels right” before buying.

The lady dowsing said she felt the energy of the property was generally good; she even got Phil to have a go, he thought it was ‘spooky’ and ran a mile!

The house the couple liked was a barn conversion with lots of wooden beams. As a Feng Shui consultant I would have looked at the position of the beds once they had moved in – it is not good to sleep under a beam and I would have given advise on various remedies.

Today’s Feng Shui tip

For those of you who work in an office where you sit is very important!

You need to feel secure, making sure that you do not give anyone the opportunity to ‘stab you in the back’.  Try to place your desk so that it is diagonal to your office door, preferably with a nice solid wall (mountain) behind you. That way you can see who is coming in, whilst protecting your back.

Never sit with your back to a window as this affords no protection, it is especially harmful if you have the window open as all the good Chi (energy) will drain away. If you have no choice put blinds up, keep them, and the window closed at all times.

If you sit directly opposite the door the energy will be too powerful and you will take the full force of anything coming in.

If it is not possible to sit with a wall behind you then go for a chair with the highest back possible, this will give you some feeling of security.
