Wave 105

I am having a great time with Wave 105 radio presenter Andy Jackson on a Monday evening. Andy invited me back onto his popular evening show to talk about feng shui, answer listeners queries, and I also provide some hints and tips on how to make life better.

If you want to learn more, or you have a query then I am on the air again this coming Monday 9-10pm.

Things going wrong!!

Don’t you just hate it when things go wrong?

This week my iron burnt out, the small water feature I have in my kitchen packed up and I got a virus on my computer!!

I thought I was protected as I have more bells and whistles on my antivirus package than you can shake the proverbial stick at, but oh no. I went to a large computer chain and they explained that I had unwittingly invited a virus in and that it needed to be eradicated. The tech guy said at least 10 days as “everyone was off sick”. Great!!

It was only when I could not use my laptop that I realized how much we have come to depend on them, mobile phones, the internet, email and the like. We are all the same, have you ever left your mobile at home and been in a state of panic all day? Go on, admit it. I wonder how many hours a week we spend on the phone and computer talking to people? Maybe for a change we should make the effort and visit a few people personally.

I was relaying my tales of woe to my friend, and fellow feng shui consultant Diane Friery, who lives in Bournemouth. Diane said she would visit next Tuesday as we are running over the format for our taster day on the 6th March (still a few places left), and she will check the energy in my house.

Feng shui consultants normally get a fellow practitioner to come in and give their home and business the ‘once over’ periodically as it is difficult to do it yourself. I suppose my home is a bit like my pc, I don’t want any viruses, so will be having my own little antivirus package topped up.

I had a wonderful time on Wave 105 last night. Andy Jackson, the radio shows evening presenter made me feel so welcome.

Many thanks to all the listeners who phoned in wanting to know about I Ching astrology, what phase they are in, and what the year may have in store for them.

Kung Hei Fat Choy

All over the world people will be celebrating the arrival of The Year of the Metal Tiger; it is 60 years since the last one.

If you get the chance, go along to a Chinese celebration, which usually includes a Lion dance. There are many being held across the country over the next few days and the Lion dance is fascinating to watch.

Some Chinese New Year traditions:

  • The Chinese will always clean the house on New Year’s Eve, sweeping away any negativity from the previous year.
  • Doors and windows will be decorated with the auspicious colour red.
  • Money is given to children on New Year’s day in small red packets
  • New clothes are worn, especially when visiting friends and family

Whatever you are doing have a wonderful day and a Happy New Year.

Exciting Weekend!

What an exciting weekend we have in store.

We are graced with a New Moon in the sign of Aquarius just before 3am on Sunday, Valentine’s Day. Those wanting love, or maybe something more from their loved one should make a wish on the New Moon. For the first few days we are in darkness, but by the middle of next week we will be able to see the stunning crescent of the New Moon illuminating the skies.

If you want to see the planet Mars look towards the east when the sun has gone down.  Mars looks like a reddish star, but where stars ‘twinkle’ the ‘Red Planet’ just steadily shines.

If you are an early bird look out for the International Space Station as it orbits the earth. At the moment it is visible around 6am. All dates and times of sightings can be found on the NASA web site.

I Ching Astrology

Saturday 14th February is the first day of the Chinese New Year, the year of the Tiger (Metal Tiger).

For years I studied  western astrology but must say I can relate to I Ching astrology much more. I have only scratched the surface as it is a complex, but I enjoy studying it and seeing how it relates to various people.

In I Ching astrology I am a number 9, Fire. The 9 star has been located in the middle of the magic square in the 5thhouse, Tai Chi, since last February. I really do feel as if I have been ‘boxed in’ and can’t wait to break free as the 9 star will travel to the 6th house, Heaven, as from Sunday.

The 6th house is represented by the Father, strong and dependable, and is located in the Northwest. Autumn and harvest are the key words associated with this house, so I hope it will be a very good year for me.

Conference

The Feng Shui Society conference last Saturday was brilliant!

It was held in the Quakers meeting house opposite Euston Station, so it was easy to get to. The building itself is vast, but has a lovely calm feeling to it. The coffee and book shops, which are open to the public, are light and airy, and you completely forgot how busy it was outside.

The speakers were fantastic, I learnt so much, and came away feeling totally reenergised.

Happy Solar New Year

Today is the Chinese Solar New Year, the first day of Spring.

The 9 Stars used in I Ching Astrology fly to new palaces (houses) and it heralds the start of the 8 Mountain year.

I was up very early repositioning my Feng Shui cures, which this week have been cleansed and recharged. The most important to me was moving my 6 rod wind chime. For the last year it has been in the North of my house helping to counteract the harmful effects of the 5 yellow Earth Star. This has now flown to the South West, Relationships, so the wind chime is now hanging there.

I always think this is a great time of year, we can all start coming out of hibernation, the dawn is breaking earlier and the nights are getting lighter which makes us all feel so much better.

For me it’s a time of looking forward, clearing out any clutter, cleaning and refocusing my life.

Feng Shui Conference

Don’t forget if you want a great Feng Shui day out then come along to the Feng Shui Society Conference this Saturday 6th Feb in London.
