Wave 105 – 29 March

Last night the theme of the show was relationships. As I said previously with the 5 Yellow Earth Star in the 2nd house – the house of relationships – then we should all pay extra attention to any relationship.

The majority of calls were from men, which was lovely. It is not often that a man phones in, I suppose they find it harder to open up, so it was great that they felt comfortable enough to come onto the show.

Internet dating was discussed. Now I have friends who have found love on the net and everything worked out very well. They used popular, well publicised sites, but a few words of advice……

Get to know the person first, email and MSN is fine but do try to talk to them personally on the phone or get a web cam set up, that way you can see exactly who you are talking to. Get as much background info on them: find out where they work, their address and a bit about their life.  They may be genuine but please don’t take risks.

I know a lot of people look for partners abroad, if you are then it is vital you really do your homework first.

The first time you meet should be in public, pick a place that is easy to get to with lots of people around. Lunch is perfect, that way if you want to make a quick exit you can do so safely in daylight.

ALWAYS tell someone where you are going. Get a friend to give you a ring at a prearranged time, say an hour into the date. Again, the call will provide a perfect excuse to leave and at least someone will know you are safe.

If you are in ANY doubt don’t go!!

A lady caller had a nice dilemma; she has two dates coming up with two different men. Nothing wrong with that because she has not been dating for a few years so she should go and have fun. I did tell her to put an ornament of a couple, or a pair of mandarin ducks in the north sector of her home. She said she used to have ducks but threw them out…. no wonder she has had no love life!

Strikes and the 5 Yellow Star

The 5 Yellow Earth Star is said to bring about all kinds of misfortune.   Financial loss, accidents, and general bad luck are some of the traits associated with this star.

On February 4th this fearsome star flew into the 2nd house – the house of relationships. Since then British Airways staff have started their second wave of strike action and we have an impending rail strike planned for the 9th April.

Relationships can be between partners, lovers, children, family, friends and of course employers and work colleagues.

So, this looks like a year where a lot of relationships will be fractured. My advice is to hang a 6 rod hollow metal wind chime in the south west of your home and also one in your place of work if you are able to. The metal from the wind chime will help drain the earth star, just give it a tap everyday to release the vibrations.

The south west area should be:

  • Kept as quiet as possible
  • Think about any major construction work in this area  – if it has to be undertaken seek professional advice first
  • Try not to locate your bed to the south west sector, if it is already there then that is fine

Willie Walsh, CEO of British Airways was born in 1961. His birth star is 3 and in the I Ching family it represents the eldest son – The trigram for 3 is Thunder, explosive and awesome! The eldest son is of course dynamic, he will be a groundbreaker, the one who has to do everything first.

Willie is in a Fire - 9 phase at the moment, it is a time of being in the spotlight,  being noticed for good or bad actions – maybe I should send him a wind chime for his office!

Clutter

Clutter….. the bain of most people’s life.

It just creeps up on us without us really noticing. We fly the nest to live on our own or to get married with precious little, then in the blink of the eye we are ramming things in cupboards or the loft because we have accumulated so much. The problem is we never want to get rid of anything. We say things like “it might come in handy one day” or “if I lose a little weight it will fit”, “it was a present and it would be rude to get rid of it”.

As I have said before if an item is unloved, unused, chipped broken or cracked or has not been worn for 12 months then get rid of it. By doing this – no matter how painful – you will allow chi to flow more freely and create space for new items to come into your life.

In one of my life areas things have not been going smoothly, so I decided to take a clinical look at what I had in there. I have a glass ornament; a very good friend gave it to me when she was visiting from the USA.  It is shaped like a handbag and is made of the most delicate glass and I love it. Unfortunately I must have got carried away with the dusting and didn’t realise that I had accidentally cracked it.

So, I then found myself with dilemma…..  should I follow my feng shui principals and throw it out or maybe just move it to another area and forget about it? I decided it had to go, it would have bugged me every time I looked at it as I knew it was damaged. So, with much sorrow I waved it goodbye as the refuse men threw it in the back of their truck.

I did take a photograph of it first; I tend to do this with items I let go but still have an emotional attachment to.  By doing this I can still look at it, but the only space it is taking up is on my PC.

What would you wish for?

I was talking to a friend of mine who has a ‘wish box, she asked me if I would like to put a wish in her box. Whist I was pondering what I would write my friend suddenly told me her wish.

Now, wishes are very personal and most people I guarantee would put:

  • Loads of money
  • Bigger house
  • Better career
  • Fantastic love life

I send out a questionnaire before attending any consultation. It asks the client what life areas they wish to enhance. The top two answers are always:

  • More Good fortune
  • Better Career

I suppose I was a little taken aback when my friend said all she ever wished for was “happiness”!

She explained as long as she was happy then that meant the following:

  • Things were going well for her grown up children and that they were fine
  • She and her family were enjoying good health
  • She had food on the table, a roof over her head, so she must have enough money in the bank

How simple!

So that got me thinking about prosperity and abundance.

Is the latest gizmo or gadget going to make your love life any better? Is the mobile with more apps than you can shake a stick at going to bring you good fortune?

If we do not have inner contentment then it really does not matter how much cash we have in the bank or what wonderful goods we possess, does it? Maybe we should reflect instead on the good things in life – like friends who are always there for you and good health if you are lucky enough to be blessed with it.

Take time to “personally” visit friends instead of a quick text or email, even a call will make all the difference. Send a nice little card to people you have not seen for a while, they will love you for this.

Analyse your life. So many times I see people stuck in relationships because they don’t want to give up the life they have. Membership to the “golf club” is more important than “true love”, people would rather endure “hell” in a relationship than sell the “perfect” house.

I have a wish box; you may put a wish in it. Think long and hard about your wish before you do so. You can either mentally put your wish in my box or email it to me, I will print it off and place it in for you.

Camden Market

I had a great day out in Camden on Sunday. A friend of mine was attending a course hosted by the Feng Shui Society so his wife, Denise, and I decided to go shopping.

If you have never been to Camden please go, it is vibrant, there is so much to look at, and is well worth the visit. Just wear sensible shoes!!

We walked from Euston along the whole length of Camden High Street visiting virtually every shop on the way up to Camden Lock market.  Here you will find lot of stalls inside, but outside is a foodie’s paradise. Stall holders cook the most amazing variety of food in the open air and the aroma is amazing.

Denise purchased a fabulous wooden box; it really did have a lovely feel. She is going to use it as a “wish box” and she could not wait to get it home. I told her to symbolically cleanse it with salt first and to put a drop of oil on the hinges as they were a little stiff. If you are opening anything, door, box or cupboard you should be able to do so freely and it should not squeak or creak.

We spent time in the Stables Market, if you love horses it is an absolute must, before heading back and visiting the West Yard open air market.

We finished our visit by calling in the TCM – Traditional Chinese Medicine shop – we spent time browsing around their bookshop and pharmacy. I used to take my son there for Acupuncture many years ago. We were there for an appointment one day and Princess Diana walked in, everyone nearly fell off their chairs.

Wave 105 – 22 March

Rick Jackson, Wave’s Drivetime presenter was sick yesterday so Andy filled in for him, Gary Parker the early morning presenter covered Andy’s slot. Gary was really enthusiastic and interested in Feng Shui so the evening went really well.

The theme of the show was buying and selling houses and we covered a lot of different threads. Buying a property is probably the biggest investment you will ever make so it is worth looking at every angle before you commit.

One lady caller had her home checked by a dowser as she felt things were not quite right. They told her she was sleeping on a Ley Line and she wanted to know if it was good to do so.

A good dowser will be able to tell you if the line is good or bad and will be able to heal it if it is harmful.  Sleeping on a fault line (Geopathic Stress) is not good for health so they are always best dealt with(for more info See my page on GS). I have ofered to go and dowse the property myself then I will be able to provide her with more information.

Energy is everywhere. When moving into a new home it is advisable to have the property “Space Cleared”. This ancient ritual banishes past energies that lurk everywhere. It is always advisable to find out the history of the property you are considering. Ask the sellers who lived here, was it a happy home, is it being sold because of death or divorce.

look closely at the surroundings:

  • Pylons, phone masts and sub stations should all be considered.
  • Are there any buildings that would create poison arrows?
  • What way does the house face?
  • Can chi enter the mouth – front door – without any obstructions? Is the front door on the side of the house thus causing problems for the chi to enter.
  • Look closely where the toilet/bathrooms are.

If a property was sold because of an unhappy marriage these energies will still be present. I have seen on a few occasions that history repeats itself with new occupants if let uncleared.

Accredited feng shui practitioners will be able to help you with any of the above.

Nice email

An extract from an email sent to And Jackson, evening presenter, Wave 105

Hi Andy,

I listen to your show on a Monday night on my way back from Adult Ed classes and I am fascinated by all that Rosie has to say.

A couple of weeks ago she was talking about improving career prospects and suggested placing a blue glass bowl of water in the North of your home. Given that at the time my 18 year old was struggling to find his way having dropped out of University and I have been struggling to sort out myself career wise for the past 9 months I felt I had to follow her advice.

I am pleased to say that my son now has a job and today I too have been offered a job – exciting times!

Nicky Wood.

Spring Clean – Wave 105 – 15 March

A New Moon graced the skies last night, this is an ideal time for making a wish. You can either do this ‘mentally’ of get yourself a little wish box. A wish box does not have to be anything ornate or new, but something that you either treasure or just like.

Visualise what it is you want – make it reasonable – then write it down on a piece of paper and place in your box with love and intention. Place the box in your Good Fortune sector which is in the South East of your home or business.

Next Saturday, 20th March is the Vernal Equinox, the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, the first day of autumn in the Southern Hemisphere.  The following day the Sun moves into Aries heralding the start of a new astrological year, so now  is an ideal time to ‘spring clean’ your home/business/mind.

Winter is classed as yin, it is a time of stillness when nothing really moves or grows.  We are now however seeing signs of improvement in the weather so it’s a great time to bring fresh energy into you home or business.

Throw open the doors and windows to let fresh chi in, clean carpets, curtains and windows – windows are the eyes of your home and you need them to be clean to see what opportunities are waiting for you.

Buy a cheap flower spray, fill it up with tap water and leave outside in the sunshine for 4 hours, you will then have solar charged water. If you wish you can add a few drops of your favourite fragranced oil. Use the spray around the home when you want to bring the ‘sunshine’ in, it will make your room smell fresh, it’s cheap, and with no harmful chemicals its kind to the environment.

I have Tibetan cymbals which I use to increase the vibrations in a room. Dark, unused corners allows chi to stagnant. An easy way for you to raise energy is simply to clap. You can chant or sing whilst doing this and it is an inexpensive way to get a good result.

We can all put off things that we don’t want to face, this means that the problem is subconsciously “playing on our mind”. This is not good as it causes stress and stops more productive thoughts coming into your mind. Make a list of things to do, leave it where you can see it and try to accomplish one task a day. Tick off each item when done and feel a sense of accomplishment as the list gets smaller.

Mars Direct

The planet Mars turns direct today, and for many it will be a massive relief.

Mars has been retrograde in Leo since December. I know many people have been feeling depressed, ok we can all feel this in winter, but added to that there has been a lot of inward anger and frustration, not a great combination.

I myself seem to have been paddling upstream for the last few months with everything around me either breaking, or not coming to fruition when it should.

Things should certainly start improving now and we can look forward to the Vernal Equinox, the first day of spring on March 20th.

Wave 105 – 8 March

Wave 105 – Romance and fertility tips

Romance: If you are looking for new love, or just want to put the spark back in your current relationship then the following may help.

A couple of points first…   You can’t make someone love you; it does not work that way. Also, when placing any cure or enhancement do it with intention, don’t just place it there then forget about it.

Make a dedicated relationship area:  The relationship area of the ‘magic square’ is situated in the second house, the south west.  The 5 Yellow Earth Star has flown to this house and will be in residence until 3rd February 2011. People all over the world will try to weaken its harmful effects by placing a hollow 6 rod metal wind in this sector.

Relationships in this sector can cover anything from lovers, friends, work colleagues, your boss or bank manger. Because of the 5 stars possible disruptive influence I would like to recommend that for this year only your ‘dedicated area romance area’ should be in the North.   The 4 Wood Star, which is linked to romance, is in residence in the watery north palace and Water will nourish it.

In your dedicated area you can place the following:

A pair of Mandarin Ducks – they mate for life. Place them facing one another as close as you can. You may also tie red ribbon around them to bind them together.

Rose Quartz – this is one of my favourite crystals. It can range from pale to dark pink and can be polished or unpolished – I actually prefer mine unpolished and rough. It is widely available, but I always get my from a tropical fish shop where I find I get more crystal for less money.  Place 2 crystals side by side.

Pictures of couples together, being happy and having fun –  Cut them out of magazines, it does not matter that you do not know them, it is just the thought. Make a picture board and put pictures of couples, bride and groom photos, wedding and engagement rings and place it where you will constantly see it, maybe next to your computer if you work in an office.

Ornaments of entwined couples….. Please don’t buy or place them if they are facing away from each other, the whole idea is to have them close. One male or female ornament on its own suggests just that! Go around your house and look at your pictures and ornaments very carefully.

Fresh flowers always bring welcome, vibrant chi to an area. If you are having communication problems with a partner display yellow flowers.

Fertility:

A couple of ladies have contacted me to say they are having trouble conceiving. This is what I told them… Next Monday, 15 March, there is a New Moon, I love working with the cycles of the Moon and a New Moon is ideal for new beginnings.

Your creativity area of your home is where you want to focus on; this is positioned in the west.

Next Tuesday morning, (the most yang time of the day is the morning) have a small flowerpot, some compost and a packet of mustard and cress seeds ready.

Go to your Creativity sector and spend a few quiet minutes visualising holding a new born baby. Put the compost in the pot and sprinkle the mustard and cress seeds in your left hand. Place your right hand over the top and send love and energy into the seeds whilst thinking about creating new life. Place the seeds lovingly in the pot, water and wait for them to grow. You must leave them in your Creativity sector.

There will be 14 days before the Moon is full, in this time we enter spring, a time of new beginnings and life, and pass from Pisces into Aries, the baby of the twelve signs. This will signify a new astrological year in the West.

Water and nourish your seeds everyday and as you do so visualise a baby growing inside you. I can’t guarantee anything, but do make the most of the 14 days with your partner and good luck.

Note:  When I am asked to carry out a consultation I work with exact plans as I need to establish where the precise centre of the home or building is. I have been to an L shaped barn conversion and the midpoint was in fact outside the home! Also, I take into account what area the relationship area falls in – toilet or garage is not ideal……

I use either the Compass or Three Door Gate method to ascertain where each life area is situated. I can only give you compass directions on the radio; please consult an accredited consultant if you want a more detailed idea of where enhancements should be positioned.
